What preach stores

preach stores the documents, thoughts, and text formatting you create or import on your device. Local preferences include your writing font, text size, Bible version, and sync setting. The app keeps a local library backup before its first iCloud migration and may retain alternate versions when edits conflict.

iCloud syncing

When enabled, sermon text, formatting, thoughts, and preserved versions are stored in your private CloudKit database and synced to devices using the same Apple Account. preach does not operate a separate sermon-storage server. Apple provides iCloud under its own terms and privacy practices. A CloudKit account identifier is kept locally to pause syncing if the signed-in account changes.

You can pause sync in Account & sync. Pausing does not remove copies already in iCloud. Removing the app is not the same as removing data stored in iCloud. Existing backups and alternate versions may remain in app storage. Contact support below for help managing your data.

Files and clipboard

Files are accessed when you choose them for import or share them to preach. Shared files are copied into a local import queue. Successful imports remove their staged copies; files that fail remain available for retry. The original source files are not changed. The clipboard is read when you choose Paste or Paste Scripture. preach does not monitor the clipboard in the background.

The online Bible reader

The Scripture panel loads YouVersion’s website. Requests include the passage’s book and chapter and ordinary web connection information, such as an IP address and browser information. preach does not send your sermon library to that website. The reader uses temporary website storage. YouVersion may process website interactions and account information under its own policy, including information you choose to provide while using its website.

Read YouVersion’s privacy policy before using that service. preach is an independent app and is not presented as an official YouVersion or Crossway product.

Tangent speech following

Tangent is optional. When you turn it on and grant permission, it uses the microphone and on-device English speech recognition to follow your outline. Audio and recognized speech are not saved or synced, and there is no cloud-recognition fallback. Listening stops when you disable Tangent, leave presenter mode, or the app is interrupted or leaves the foreground. The off-script reminder uses visual enlargement and a gentle text wiggle, with no physical vibration.

Analytics, advertising, and diagnostics

preach has no advertising SDK or developer-operated analytics service. Apple may process iCloud service information and diagnostics according to your Apple settings and Apple’s policies. The online Bible website has its own processing practices; temporary browser storage does not mean that the website receives no information.

Support communications

If you email support, the recipient receives your email address, message, and any attachments you choose to send. Email services handle those communications under their own policies. Do not include private sermon or prayer content unless you are comfortable sharing it with the support recipient.
